This week’s Featured Furry Friend is Joe Joe, a 9 year old former stray that has been at the APL a little over 3 months. He came in with some other strays and during his examination the medical team discovered he is FIV+. FIV is a virus similar to HIV in humans that weakens the immune system, making them prone to infections but doesn't stop them from living long, happy lives with proper care. Joe Joe is still getting used to things at the shelter, but he is living the currently living the easy life of an indoor cat with previous FFF Schnoogs! He is slowly warming up to the staff and volunteers, so as long as Joe Joe's family gives him the time he needs(and lots of treats) he will be well on his way to becoming a sweet affectioante cat!
