John Travolta is taking the reins, and this time he’s flipping Danny Zuko into full-on holiday mode as Santa in a new Capital One spot. The ad opens with him sizing up a futuristic sleigh before dropping a cheerful “Ho, ho, ho, ho” and riffing, “Why, this sleigh could be frost-o-matic, tinsel-matic, 1.5-percent cash back-o-matic.” Seconds later, he hits fans with “It’s Greased Lightnin’,” turning the whole scene into a nod to his “Grease” past. He even breaks into a fresh spin on “Greased Lightnin’” while Santa’s elves and reindeer dance along. Travolta’s no stranger to callbacks, but this festive mash-up might be his most joyful throwback yet. Check out the commercial on the right.
