The roof of the Jet Set nightclub collapsed in the early hours of April 8, killing at least 44 people and over 160 injured in the collapse. Former MLB pitcher Octavio Dotel was among those killed in the deadly collapse of an iconic nightclub in the Dominican Republic. The 51-year-old's body was pulled from the rubble on Tuesday morning, about six hours after the roof collapsed during a performance by merengue artist Rubby Pérezat the Jet Set nightclub in Santo Domingo. Two other former MLB players, Henry Blanco and Esteban Germán, were also at the club but left before the collapse. Nelsy Cruz, sister of former MLB star Nelson Cruz, was also killed.
