Day 20 from Arizona

-With just 23 days until opening day the Indians will get Hanley Ramirez into a game. Ramirez who has been pegged for strictly DH work feels that he’s going to be ready to go after just a few weeks of at bats.

-H Ramirez was 0-2 in his spring debut with 2 fly outs. He says he doesn’t need a set number at bats to get ready that’ll be more of a feel thing for him to know he is ready.

-With Hanley now in the fold it also means that things will change for 1B Jake Bauers, Bauers who came up as a smooth 1st baseman is now the guy that will get most of his reps in left field. Carlos Santana who is willing to go out to the outfield, will not be asked to at this point. Terry Francona doesn’t think that it makes sense to make both Bauers and Santana bounce back and forth from 1st to the outfield. So for the time being it’ll be Bauers going back n forth.

-After dealing w a sore leg, 2b Jason Kipnis bounced back with authority on Sunday as he hit 2 doubles as he DH’d vs KC.

-Best story to come from Sundays contest was the appearances of both Nick Goody and Cody Anderson. Goody pitched a clean inning with a strikeout. Anderson gave up a hit and a walk in his scoreless inning of work.

-Leonys Martin’s hot summer continued on Tuesday as he hit a 2 run homer. Martin is hitting over .500 so far this spring and looks to have the center field job locked up.

-Shane Bieber tossed three strong innings on Monday as the rookie looks strong in his first big league camp. He had 4 strikeouts in his appearance.

-The Indians offense on Tuesday was paced by Martin w his 2 run homer and Carlos Santana continued his hot spring with a solo shot in the 6th inning.

-Mike Clevinger will make his Cactus League debut as the Indians will travel to Glendale to face the Dodgers. The game can be seen on MLB Network.
