CLEVELAND, OH -- Royals starter Brady Singer looked untouchable through his first five innings, before things fell apart in the 6th. The Guardians were knocking on the door with two men on and no men out, when Jose Ramirez stepped into the box. The Cleveland superstar third baseman launched a 3-run no doubter over the right field wall to spring the Guardians ahead. Cleveland's bullpen shut the door on the Royals to secure a 6-3 victory.
Aaron Civale gave his club a strong six innings, giving up two earned runs on three total hits on his way to his 4th win of the season. Guardians' catcher Austin Hedges was looking for his first base hit since the first week of September, and did just that in the 6th inning with an RIB single on a line drive hit to left field.
The Royals and Guardians will clash for game two of a six game bout on Saturday evening. The first pitch is set for 6:10 pm ET at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio.
