CLEVELAND, OH--- The Boston Red Sox came to Cleveland for a 3 -game series and took the first 6-3 Friday night. The Guardians have played the least amount of home games in the MLB this year with 27. The Guardians have quite the stretch coming up, playing 18 games in the next 16 days, so they'll have plenty of time to bounce back from this one.

Although the Red Sox and Guardians were an even 12 in the hit column, the Red Sox got their hits when they mattered the most. 1 of those Guardians hits came from Jose Ramirez who would extend his hitting streak to 13. The first run of the game was an oddball, as Guardians starter Cal Quantrill would "hit" Christian Arroyo with the bases loaded, Trevor Story came in from 3rd. I put "hit" in quotations because the ball ever so slightly grazed the jersey of Arroyo. Myles Straw would get the run back in the bottom half of that second inning with an RBI double that would bring home Andres Gimenez. Gimenez would later hit a solo home run that would tie the game after Rafael Devers would hit a solo home run of his own the inning before. Arroyo, who had a 3-hit night would hit a 2-run bomb that brought in Rob Refsnyder. In that same inning, Alex Verdugo would hit a double that would allow J.D Martinez to score. The Guardians, as they have been this season would fight to the 27th out as in the bottom of the 9th Steven Kwan would hit a single to bring in Franmil Reyes, unfortunately, it wasn't enough as the half-inning before that Rob Refsnyder would hit an RBI double, Trevor Story was the runner who scored.

The Guardians go to battle again tomorrow still at Progressive Filed with Shane Bieber leading the charge. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:10.
