DETROIT,MI--- The Detroit Tigers walked off the Guardians Thursday night in the bottom of the 9th to win the game 4-3. The game was in jeopardy of being delayed or even cancelled due to looming thunderstorms, but the storms broke apart just before game time at Comerica Park.

The Tigers got on the board early, when Javier Baez, coming into the game with a .202 BA on the season hit an RBI single in the bottom of the first that brought in Robbie Grossman to score. In the second inning we would see the MLB debut of Oscar Gonzalez for the Guardians, he would get his first major league hit in his first plate appearance, a sharp line drive to center field. Later that inning the Tigers added another run via a SAC fly off the bat of Johnathan Schoop, who would later score the winning run of the game for the Tigers. In that same inning Miguel Cabrera, who's bat lead to Schoop being brought home to score in the bottom of the 9th, hit an RBI single that brought in Robbie Grossman to score. The Tigers now had an early 3-0 lead. On the mound for the Tigers was Tarik Skubal, who has been very solid for the Tigers this year. Coming into this game Skubal pitched 21 consecutive scoreless innings, until Luke Maile came to bat, hitting an RBI double that scored Oscar Mercado in the top of the 3rd. The Guardians came back quick and with vengeance, on an Owen Miller double that brought in Myles Straw and Amed Rosario, this was good to see as over the last 2 weeks, Miller was carrying a .150 BA. The game was quiet from there on, until the walk off from Miguel Cabrera in the bottom of the 9th.

The Guardians continue the series in Detroit tomorrow with Shane Bieber on the mound for a 7:10 first pitch.
