CLEVELAND, OH -- The Indians jumped out to a one run lead in the 2nd inning on a solo shot from Oscar Mercado, and would go on to maintain their lead for the remainder of the game. Yu Chang and Austin Hedges each launched solo blasts in the 5th to provide the tribe [itching staff with insurance runs. Cleveland's bullpen shut the door on the Rangers to secure a 7-2 win.

Zach Plesac looked shaky at times during his start on Wednesday night, but was able to work out of jams to fend off the Rangers lineup. The Cleveland right hander finished the game with a line of 2 earned runs on 8 hits, striking out 4 while walking 3 in 5 1/3 innings of work.

The Indians and Rangers will square off in the rubber match of the three game series on Thursday night. First pitch is set for 7:10 pm ET at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio.
