PITTSBURGH, PA -- The Cleveland Indians looked to be in position to secure a bounce back victory heading into the 7th inning, before imploding for 6 earned runs, turning the game on it's side. Tribe reliever Bryan Shaw struggled to find his command, walking three batters while giving up four earned runs. Despite giving up a solo homer, Pittsburgh closer Richard Rodriguez held on to secure a 6-3 win over the visiting Indians.
With four starters out with injuries, the Cleveland bullpen appears to be running out of gas. Tribe relievers combined for 6 walks and 6 earned runs, while the Indians watched a late 2-run lead diminish quickly. The Pirates brought home all 6 of their runs on two 3-run blasts, both coming in the 7th inning.
Cleveland will look to avoid a 3-game sweep against a scuffling Pirates team on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is set for 1:05 pm ET at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
