Naquin's Five RBIs Are The Difference Indians win 5-0

The Indians continue to battle in the AL Central as the defeated the Kansas City Royals 5-0. Behind the young arm of Triston McKenzie who lasted six innings giving up three hits, no runs and struck out six. In for McKenzie came Phil Maton who pitched one inning with one strike out he was followed by Nick Wittgren. Wittgren had one inning of work where we would strike out one and give up none. In for the save came Brad Hand. Hand would need only one inning to close out the game. This is the Indians best sixth shutout of the season.

On offense the Indians got the lead off of a two run home run by Tyler Naquin. Also on offense Franmil Reyes extended his hitting streak to eight straight hits at eight straight at bats. That is first time an Indians batter has done that since Julio Franco in June of 1988. the score remained two nothing until the top of the ninth when yet again Tyler Naquin went deep for his second home run of the night, and his fifth for the season. The three run home run would make the the score five nothing in favor of the Indians.

Big Plays of the Game:

Delino Deshields made an incredible catch while crashing into the wall in the bottom of the second inning.

Then in the bottom of the sixth inning Francisco Lindor make an incredible play on the ball and a quick throw to first for the second out of the inning.

Naquin's second home run of the night.
