SEATTLE--A huge first inning and errors in the eighth inning led to a Tribe victory in Seattle 6-4. This result ends the Indians (9-7) three game losing streak while extending the Mariners (13-6) losing skid to four.

The Tribe was led by a strong start from Trevor Bauer (2-1) as he had 8 strikeouts against a lineup which produced a home run on each of their first 19 games.

Meanwhile, Mariners starter Yusei Kikuchi (0-1) had a tough time early against the Indians offense. Jason Kipnis recorded his first hit during his first at-bat of the 2019 season since returning from injury.

Then Jose Ramirez who had not been the same since last August lifted his team with a solo home run in the third inning.

The Indians escaped a bases loaded situation thanks to Seattle's own now current Indian Adam Cimber who grew up in Seattle.

Seattle gave two runs away to Cleveland in the eighth due to errors. While the Mariners got to within one run at the bottom of the eighth, Greg Allen made the Superman catch to end the inning and stop the Mariners run. Brad Hand (5) gets the save.

Shane Bieber (1-0) will start Tuesday night against Mike Leake (2-0).
