On Monday, Moses, a German Shepherd in Prescott, Arizona, protected his owner during a rabid bobcat attack after the animal lunged at both of them while they were out walking.

The owner says the bobcat scratched her arm and knocked her over before attacking the dog, who later killed the animal in the driveway.

The Arizona Game and Fish Department confirms the bobcat tested positive for rabies, while the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office says three other bobcat attacks had been reported in the same area within 48 hours.

Moses, who is vaccinated against rabies, is quarantining at home, and his owner is being treated and is expected to fully recover.
