A Texas rideshare driver recently rescued a toddler who was wandering alone in the middle of a busy road and walked out into oncoming traffic. zTrip driver Michelle Gallegos was giving one of her regular customers a ride when she spotted the child while driving near Interstate 35. At first, she thought it might be a dog heading toward the roadway, but soon realized it was a little boy and quickly stopped her car in the road, blocking traffic.

Gallegos exited her vehicle and secured the boy just as he stepped further into the street. She then placed him safely in her car and called 911 while she pulled into a nearby apartment complex. She later described how the child appeared unaware of the danger and how he was unkempt and wearing a soiled diaper.

Police arrived moments later and determined the boy lived at the apartments, where his family had been searching for him after losing sight of him during an appointment. The toddler was fortunately unharmed and safely reunited with his parents.
