DoorDash Driver Saves Stranger From Stabbing At Walgreens

A South Carolina DoorDash driver is being praised for stopping a random stabbing at a Walgreens. Last Tuesday, Kennis Goodman was picking up an order at a Walgreens in east Columbia when he saw a man attack a customer with a knife. Acting quickly, Goodman tackled the assailant, wrestling away the knife, and holding him down until the situation was under control. Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook describes the assault as unprovoked and says it could have been much worse if Goodman hadn’t intervened.

Despite facing an attacker much larger than he is, the good Samaritan says his focus was on helping the injured man and protecting others in the store. He credits his faith with giving him the courage to act, saying, “God had a purpose for me to be here.” The victim is still in intensive care, but Goodman is in touch with the man’s family offering support and tracking his recovery.

While many are calling him a hero, Goodman humbly says he was just doing “God’s mission,” but he’s grateful for the praise. He’s since returned to Walgreens to check on the employees and says he’ll continue to do so.
