Videos circulating on the internet show riders on the Siren's Cove coaster facing straight down from high atop the stopped ride on Sunday.
The ride eventually resumed operations as normal, and no one was hurt.
Similar incidents have happened a number of times since Siren's Cove opened earlier this year.
A spokesperson for Cedar Point says the ride's safety system performed as designed, keeping all guests safe.
