Panera's new menu item, Salad Stuffers, has sparked controversy among employees, with many expressing concerns about its wastefulness.
The Salad Stuffers are essentially a bread bowl for salads, made with an Italian Stuffer Roll designed to hold the chain's salads, which some employees liken to a sandwich.
Employees have taken to social media platforms like Reddit to voice their dissatisfaction with the item, citing concerns about the wastage of both bread and salad components.
One employee highlighted the wastefulness of the Salad Stuffers, stating, "the core of the bread is thrown out, and a good chunk of the salad gets tossed in the trash too."
Another employee emphasized the excessive waste generated by the Salad Stuffers, mentioning the disposal of plastic containers and ingredients that do not fit into the roll.
