A Northeast Ohio police officer has been indicted in Cuyahoga County on a charge accusing him of improperly using a law enforcement database to look up a woman and contact her.
Investigators say Tyler Smith searched the woman's license plate after meeting her briefly at a hospital, then later called and texted her.
University Hospitals says Smith was suspended and later fired after the allegations surfaced.
Smith is now scheduled to be arraigned next week.
