The trial of Guardians pitchers Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz is being pushed back on the calendar.

The two are accused of taking bribes as part of an alleged gambling scheme. Federal prosecutors say the two accepted bribes from bettors in exchange for intentionally throwing balls to help bettors.

May 4th had been set for the start of the trial but the start of proceedings has now been moved to November 2nd -- allowing time for the court to consider separate trials for the defendants....something that lawyers for Clase and Ortiz want but that prosecutors oppose.
