A defendant charged in connection with a vehicle crash that claimed the life of a man in Lakewood is taking a plea deal.
The incident happened on December 11th, 2024, when 58-year-old Bill Safos was struck outside of a crosswalk near Madison and Orchard Grover Avenues. Safos, a former reporter for Cleveland Channel 19, suffered injuries that later claimed his life.
Defendant Zachary Saliba has pleaded guilty this week to a charge of attempted aggravated vehicular manslaughter and will be sentenced at a later date.
