In Portage County, Mayor Anne Haynam is announcing the temporary shutdown of the fire department and EMS service in the Village of Hiram.
The move comes following the resignation of department leadership.
Lieutenant interviews are scheduled for tomorrow, though Haynam says that more benchmarks must be met before the department can go back online.
The Garrettsville Freedom Nelson Fire District is offering support to the area in the meantime.
