Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirriani confirmed wide receiver A.J. Brown had mutual interest in staying with the team, but neither he nor general manager Howie Roseman guaranteed Brown would be on the roster in 2026.

"Yeah, my expectation is he wants to be here. And obviously you want good players like that in your building," Sirianni said during a session with local media members during the NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday (February 24) via ESPN. "As Howie said, it's hard to get good players in this league. A.J.'s a great player and A.J. is a good teammate and A.J. is a good person. Does he want to be here? Yes. Do I want him to be here? Yes."

Sirriani was then asked directly if Brown would be on the Eagles' roster next season and couldn't give a definitive answer.

"Will A.J. be here next season? I think we're still in a spot, like, I can't guarantee how anything is going to play out into next season. I'm thinking I'm going to be the coach next season, but you can't guarantee anything past tomorrow," he said via ESPN.

Roseman reiterated his previous public stance that it is "really hard to find great players" like Brown, a three-time All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection.

"From my perspective, we're looking to improve in all areas, and you don't do that by subtracting," he said via ESPN before indicating that the team would entertain trade offers.

"I think you go into the league year listening to offers for everything and anything," Roseman added. "If someone is going to give you something you didn't anticipate and you won't even have the conversation, I don't think you're necessarily doing your job or really servicing the team you're with.

"You never know what someone is willing to do. Certainly, we've been in situations where there were guys we didn't anticipate trading that we got an offer that was too good, and then you balance it with what you can get there.

"Without getting into specifics on any player, we're always listening and we're always kind of open. There's very few things that I would shoot down without even hearing what that means, because how does it hurt to listen?"

Brown, 28, was acquired by the Eagles in a trade with the Tennessee Titans on the night of the 2022 NFL Draft and was selected as an All-Pro during his first three seasons with the franchise, which included winning Super Bowl LIX last year. The former Ole Miss standout has, however, shared his frustration about his role and a lack of targets at times throughout his tenure, which has led to speculation about a potential departure and had multiple crucial dropped would-be first downs during Philadelphia's NFC Wild Card Round loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Brown recorded 78 receptions for 1,003 yards -- the lowest total of his Eagles tenure -- and seven touchdowns -- the same total in each of the last three seasons -- while being targeted 121 times, the third-lowest total in his four seasons in Philadelphia.
