A month after being sentenced to six months in prison, a former Rocky River police officer has been released from custody.
Investigators say Michael Bernhardt illegally accessed the Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway and Law Enforcement Automated Database System more than 70 times over ten years, gathering information on family, colleagues, and others.
Bernhardt pleaded guilty in November to three counts of unauthorized use and was sentenced in December. Records show he was granted early release last week.
