State lawmakers have approved a bill that would overhaul parts of Ohio's marijuana laws, restrict intoxicating hemp products, and temporarily legalize THC beverages.
The measure tightens rules on recreational marijuana by requiring it to be grown or purchased within Ohio, lowering allowable THC levels in extracts, and creating a process to erase some past low-level convictions.
It also adds new penalties for growing more than 12 plants at home and sets packaging and public smoking restrictions.
If signed, the bill would limit intoxicating hemp and THC products to licensed dispensaries while allowing THC beverages through 2026.
