Cleveland RTA Announces Cuts To Make Up For Budget Shortfall

Cleveland RTA is announcing staff and service reductions to address a 2025 financial shortfall.

The transit authority reports a $50 million deficit this year, which it plans to offset with $40 million from its reserve fund and $10 million in cuts next year.

Reductions include a hiring freeze, reduced overtime, and the elimination of 56 vacant positions.
