Two people are in custody after a Wednesday incident involving an officer-involved shooting near the Case Western Reserve University campus.

The highway patrol reports that they attempted to initiate a traffic stop on Woodland Avenue around 5:30 p.m., but the driver fled the scene.

With a tire deflation device deployed, the driver and a passenger exited the vehicle near campus and fled from the scene.

When officers confronted a male suspect, shots were fired, and the man was hurt.

The other suspect was later arrested when they tried to re-enter the vehicle.
