MSNBC is set to change its name to "My Source News Opinion World" or MS NOW as part of Comcast's spin-off from NBC Universal.

CNBC, USA, Oxygen, and E! are also included in the Comcast spin-off, with CNBC keeping its name but working on a new logo to separate from NBC.

Cesar Conde will continue leading the NBCUniversal News Group, which now only includes NBC News, NBC News Now, Telemundo, and local stations.

Mark Lazarus, head of the new company Versant, aims to mitigate brand confusion in the spinoff, with MS NOW still catering to a progressive audience and holding political figures accountable.

"Morning Joe" hosts and CNBC's Andrew Ross Sorkin expressed excitement and approval for the name change, with Sorkin praising it for its independence and departure from legacy media.
