Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' administration is preparing to open a second immigration detention facility at the Baker Correctional Institution in north Florida.
Dubbed the 'Deportation Depot', he new facility is expected to initially hold 1,300 immigration detention beds, with the potential to expand to 2,000.
DeSantis said there was "a demand" for the center and that he was "confident it will be filled."
It joins 'Alligator Alcatraz', a 3,000-capacity facility in the Everglades that opened last month.
