Dave Parker, the former Pirates and Reds great known as "The Cobra," has died at the age of 74 - just one month before his induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
The legendary outfielder was a two-time batting champion, the 1978 National League MVP, and part of two World Series champion teams.
Despite his tough exterior, Parker admitted to shedding tears upon learning of his Hall of Fame selection: "Yeah, I cried. It only took a few minutes, because I don’t cry."
Diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2012, Parker continued to live with the condition for over a decade.
Parker and Dick Allen will be formally inducted into the Hall of Fame on July 27th.
