A Lorain County corrections officer is out of a job following a 2024 incident involving an inmate.

Reports say that Officer Christopher Jackson -- who has now been terminated -- was serving lunch to a prisoner on December 29th when a male inmate threw feces at him.

Video shows Jackson later going back to the cell and appearing to punch the prisoner.

During the confrontation, the inmate was able to escape the cell and was the subject of a brief pursuit through the facility.

Lorain County Sheriff Jack Hall says the officer violated policy in failing to secure the cell and wait for backup.
