British WWII Pilot Dies At 105

John "Paddy" Hemingway, the last surviving pilot of World War II's Battle of Britain, has passed away at the age of 105.

Hemingway joined the RAF as a teenager and became a fighter pilot at 21.  His squadron shot down 90 enemy aircraft in May 1940 and provided fighter cover during the Battle of France.

Hemingway was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and survived multiple bailouts and crashes during the war.

UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer praised Hemingway's courage and that of all RAF pilots for their role in securing freedom
