Ontario, Canada is imposing a 25% surcharge on electricity exports to the U.S. in response to Trump administration tariffs.

Premier Ford stated, "President Trump's tariffs are a disaster for the U.S. economy. They're making life more expensive for American families and businesses."

The surcharge will impact consumers and businesses in Michigan, Minnesota, and New York, adding $400,000 in daily costs for U.S. homes and businesses.

President Trump's 25% tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico recently went into effect, but he announced a one-month delay until April 2.

Ontario vows to stand strong and use every tool to protect the province until the threat of tariffs is eliminated.
