Ravenna veteran Willie Berry to be honored with life-changing gift this Veterans Day through Baths for the Brave
The Bath Authority to give Iraq war veteran new shower to enhance his quality of life
RAVENNA, OH. [Nov. 6, 2024] – The Bath Authority, part of the Great Day Improvements family of brands based in Bedford Heights, specializing in baths, walk-in showers and tub-to-shower conversions, is changing the life of a deserving local veteran by giving them the gift of a walk-in shower with its annual Baths for the Brave program. The showers will be installed on Thursday, November 7, 2024 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., just in time for Veterans Day.
“At The Bath Authority, we’re in the business of transforming bathrooms, but we wanted to do more than just improve homes & bathrooms,” explained Mike Strmac, Co-Founder of The Bath Authority. “We want to make a meaningful impact on people's lives. Baths for the Brave felt like the perfect way to give back to the veterans who have sacrificed so much for our country.”
Willie Berry is a Ravenna native who served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves for 15 years after graduating from high school. After his service, he continues to serve veterans by working for the VFW. Due to his time in combat, Willie suffers with severe back pain and having a walk-in shower will help alleviate the pain of stepping into his current bath.
“Coming home, we all have some kind of injury—mental or physical and sometimes it’s both,” explained Berry. “Knowing I’m going to have a safe space to relax in will change my life.”
Baths for the Brave was founded in 2017 in Appleton, WI at Tundraland Home Improvements and has expanded throughout the country and across multiple bath companies that believe strongly in giving back to their communities. The program is a 100 percent time and material donation to a veteran, or veterans, in need.
