Fernando Valenzuela Dead At 63 - Iconic Dodgers Pitcher - "EL TORO"

Fernando Valenzuela was one of the most iconic players in Dodgers history The native of Mexico he was the only player to win a Cy Young Award and Rookie of the Year in the same season in 1981. He had a unique pitching style A big leg kick up and a look to the sky before each pitch. Valenzeula retired from baseball in 1997. And later joined the Spanish language broadcast team for the Dodgers. Admitted to the hospital earlier this month with an unspecified illness Valenzuela has died at the age of 63.

On June 29, 1990, he threw a no-hitter against the St Louis Cardinals at Dodgers Stadium. Dodgers announcer Vin Scully on the famous final call.
