DJI Sues Pentagon For Legally Classifying It A “Chinese Military Company”

MIKE DOBUSKI, ABC NEWS TECHNOLOGY REPORTER, NEW YORK spoke to Bill about If you know someone who owns one of those buzzy remote controlled drones, there’s a good chance they have a DJI. And now, that extremely popular consumer drone company now suing the Department of Defense. DJI alleges the DOD is illegally classifying DJI as a “Chinese military company,” and that the agency hasn’t meaningfully engaged with them despite sixteen months of trying. Despite the company’s ubiquity in hobbyist circles – and the drones’ use in many emergency services – it’s not the only trouble DJI is facing. Plus, it’s been a big week for new gadgets, with four new Kindle devices for booklovers, as well as a quirky new Nintendo product.
