The Guardians fell to the Rays 5-2 in their series opener from Progressive. Gavin Williams got the loss after giving up three runs on seven hits over five-plus innings. Lane Thomas and Andres Gimenez drove in runs as Cleveland had its three-game winning streak come to an end. The Guardians are still first in the AL Central at 84-and-63 and will continue the four-game set tonight.
