On Thursday, California Governor Gavin Newsom issued an executive order that would remove homeless encampments.

Newsom's order would leave the removal of encampments up to local decision-making.

Under this order, officials would have to give notice to vacate camps, connect homeless individuals to helpful services, and store belongings for up to 60 days.

This comes after the Supreme Court announced allowing cities to enforce bans on sleeping in public.
