Guardians Lose A Tight One - 2-1 To Royals

The Cleveland Guardians had just seven hits during a 2-1 loss to the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium. The Guardians left nine men on base and went one-for-six with runners in scoring position during the loss. Daniel Schneemann drove in Cleveland's only run in the fifth, but the Guardians surrendered two runs in the sixth. Ben Lively was charged with his fourth loss after giving up two runs on six hits in six innings. Cleveland remains atop the AL Central at 51-and-28. Triston McKenzie starts for the Guardians against Kansas City tonight. In other team news, Cleveland signed pitcher Matthew Boyd to a major league contract yesterday
