Suspect Wanted for Killing a Euclid Police Officer

(Euclid) Euclid Police report that one of their officers was shot and killed in the line of duty Saturday night. It happened around 10 pm when officers responded to a call of a disturbance in the 300 block of East 211th Street. That's when police say the officer was shot in what they say was an ambush.

Police have identified the name and provided pictures of the suspect. He's 24-year-old Deshawn Anthony Vaughn. He's about 6-ft 3-in and weights around 215 pounds. Police say Vaughn may be driving a 2017 white Volkswagen Passat with a temporary license plate in the rear window.

Police caution that Vaughn is armed and should be considered extremely dangerous. Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to contact the Euclid Police Department at 216-289-8505 or the U. S. Marshals Service at 1-866-492-6833.
