(Euclid) A weekend apartment fire in Euclide claimed the life of a man. Late Saturday night firefighters responded to a report of a kitchen fire inside an apartment in the 300 block of Babbitt Road. Firefighters located a man inside the apartment. The victim identified as 49-year-old Alfred L. Harper Jr. was taken to Cleveland Clinic-Euclid Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The investigation into a cause of the fire is ongoing.
