The Ohio State Buckeyes are on the search for a new men's basketball coach.

The university has fired Chris Holtmann following a 14-and-11 start to the season.

Associate head coach Jake Diebler will serve as the Buckeyes' interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

Holtmann had four years remaining on his contract that ran through the 2027-28 season.

The school said that he will receive a buyout of 12.8 million dollars.

New athletic director Ross Bjork will lead the search for Holtmann's replacement.

The Buckeyes are set to host second-ranked Purdue on Saturday afternoon.
