A shocker happened at the MLB draft lottery. The Cleveland Guardians earned the top-overall selection in the 2024 draft despite having just a two-percent chance of winning the Number-one pick. Eight other teams were ahead of the Guardians including the Oakland Athletics, Kansas City Royals and Colorado Rockies, who each had an 18-point-three percent chance of getting the top selection. The Cincinnati Reds will draft second, while the Rockies, A's and Chicago White Sox round out the top five. The draft takes place in July.
