City officials are reporting a dramatic increase in the number of police applicants since a series of recruiting enhancements were announced over the summer.
In August, the police department announced incentives including sign-on bonuses, increased cadet salaries, and education reimbursements.
Officials say they've seen a 45-percent increase in applications since the incentives were announced.
