The Guardians came back to beat the Royals 2-1 in their series opener from Kansas City. The team trailed by a run heading into the ninth inning until Will Brennan crushed a double to score the game-tying and go-ahead runs. Emmanuel Clase came into the bottom half of the frame and slammed the door shut on KC to seal the win. The Guardians improved to 38-and-40 and are second in the NL Central. Game two of the three-game set takes place tonight.
