The Guardians scored late runs to beat the Athletics 7-6 in Cleveland. The team trailed 6-5 heading into the bottom of the eighth inning until Steven Kwan laced a double which plated the game-tying and go-ahead runs. Emmanuel Clase shut the door on Oakland in the ninth to secure the win. Gavin Williams surrendered four runs over five-plus innings in his first major league start.
