ELYRIA, OH - Fire took the life of Dwight McMurray, 63, on Tuesday. Elyria firefighters responded to a shed fire at 215 Kansas Avenue just before noon. Upon arrival, the shed was fully involved in the rear of the property. While crews were attacking the fire, McMurray was found deceased near the front of the shed suffering from thermal burns.
The shed was totally destroyed and the rear of the house also sustained moderate damage to the rear exterior. Crews were on the scene for about two hours. No other injuries were reported.
