CSU Survives Robert Morris 57-55

CLEVELAND, OH--- The Vikings and Robert Morris Colonials went back and forth, going down to the wire with the Vikings winning the game 57-55 thanks to "Spider" Johnson with 2 seconds left. CSU was 8-2 all time against RMU coming into Friday night's game, their last meeting on New Year's Eve with the Vikes winning 63-54.

The Vikings controlled the majority of the first half, leading 22-9 at one point. In the last 7 minutes, RMU would go on a 22-10 run, lead by Enoch Cheeks, Stephaun Walker, and Kahliel Spear. The Vikes started off hot especially from the field, but would end the first half shooting 36% from the field. RMU kept fighting all first half, and throughout the game, cutting down the Viking lead to 1 heading into halftime.

CSU opened up the 2nd half on a 14-3 run after leading by just 1 at halftime, but RMU kept fighting, going on a 13-4 run after ending CSU's run. All game long and all 2nd half RMU kept cutting into the lead, and cutting in some more, cutting the lead to 1 with 6:10 left thanks to a Kahliel Spear dunk. The game was closely contested from that point on, until Drew Lowder sent Michael Green III to the line, Green III made both of his free throws, tying the game at 53 with 2:52 left in the game. A minute later, RMU took the lead on a Jackson Last jumper, but then comes in Deante "Spider" Johnson, making a layup with 2 seconds left in the game, and getting the game saving steal to secure the win.
