(Cleveland) - The Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging (WRAAA) has obtained $3.4 million in grants for four programs to help local senior citizens be able to live in their own homes, providing them safety, food, and transportation. Credit for obtaining the grand money is being given to U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown, U.S. Rep Shontel Brown, and the Cuyahoga County Council.
WRAAA Nails it & WRAAA WORKS
These are programs to make simple repairs and modifications to a senior's home, such as grab bars, toilet rails, ADA toilets, disability accommodation showers, and stair safety rails. WRAAA Nails it is for Cuyahoga County residents, while WRAAA WORKS is for people both in Cuyahoga and Lorain Counties.

The Great Grocery Giveaway
This was originally a four-week program in 2021 to help get food, hygiene and safety items to seniors during the pandemic. Due to the Giveaway's success, it will be back in March 2023.

WRAAA Going Places
Care Alliance Health Center and Senior Transportaion Connection will partner with WRAAA to provide transportation and resource access for Care Alliance patients and Cuyahoga County senior residents. They will transport disabled and seniors to medical, dental, and therapy appointments, grocery stores, pharmacies, and other health and socialization activities, such as to senior centers. There will also be delivery of medical and other supplies, and food to seniors taking part in WRAAA or other food access programs.
