13-foot, 4.25 inches of Alligator, in fact, as Texas resident Shane Lee caught it during the first week of hunting season. This happened in Tarkington Texas, which is coincidentally near Cleveland, Texas just west of Beaumont. According to Lee, he was unaware a large Alligator was even out there but ended up catching it after they attached a dead raccoon to a cane pool that was attached to a tree. He left it, and when he came back he found the tree shaking, which he knew meant he had himself an alligator on the other end.
In the end, it took three men to use a winch on a buggy to get the alligator out of the water. Lee said he's going to tan the gator's hide and have the head mounted.
