Rocky River Police Blotter

  • On 08/29/2022 at about 4:50 p.m. a caller reported a car parked on the street on Frazier Dr. with two small children inside and no adults around. Police arrived several minutes later and found the car running, unlocked with an infant and a toddler inside, still no adult present. After about ten minutes, police located the children's care taker at a house nearby. The 62-year-old Cleveland woman was cited for two counts of endangering children, the Dept. of Children & Family Services notified, and the children were turned over to their father, who was working at the time of the incident. 
  • On 08/30/2022 at about 12:24 p.m. a Carmen Dr. resident reported a men's "Volume Sledgehammer" bicycle was stolen from the home between 11:24 a.m. and 12:24 p.m.
  • On 09/02/2022 at about 2:50 a.m. a caller reported a driver of a white Nissan passed out behind the wheel on Wagar Rd. at Center Ridge Rd. Police arrived and confirmed the report. Field sobriety tests were administered to the driver and the 35-year-old Rocky River man was arrested for drunk driving. 
  • On 09/02/2022 at about 2:00 p.m. a caller reported that she was walking her leashed dog on Wagar Rd. when a dog pushed through the window of a house on Wagar and attacked her dog, causing injuries. The owner of the escapee was cited for animal not under control. 
  • On 09/03/2022 at about 1:40 p.m. a caller reported that two cars were broken into at Rocky River Park. As reported, police found two cars with a broken windows, each missing a purse. Police are investigating.  
  • On 09/04/2022 at about 9:30 a.m. a Wooster Rd. resident reported a boys mountain bike stolen overnight. 
  • On 09/05/2022 at about 9:00 a.m., several cars were broken into and purses stolen while victims were exercising at a Center Ridge Rd. fitness center. Neither were sure what time the theft occurred. 
  • On 09/06/2022 at about 11:15 a.m. police responded to Marlen Jewelers after a theft was reported there. A man left the store without paying for a gold chain that he took from the counter. The 46-year-old Bay Village man was located and charged with theft and disorderly conduct. He was advised he was no longer welcome at the store. 
  • On 09/11/2022 at about 6:30 p.m. a caller reported a possible OVI on Hilliard Blvd. at I-90. The suspect vehicle and the caller pulled into the Shell station on Hilliard Blvd. at Wooster Rd. Police determined that both cars were exiting I-90. The first car was stopped at the light but not pulled up far enough to actuate the signal so the driver of the second car sounded his horn and motioned to pull forward. The driver and passenger of the first car exited their car and approached the driver of the first car and pushed and hit the complainant. After police investigated, the driver of the first car, a 43-year-old Cleveland woman, was arrested for drunk driving, endangering children (a child passenger in the car), and obstructing official business. The passenger, an 18-year-old Cleveland man, was arrested for assault. The child passenger was turned over to a sober adult and the Department of Children Services was notified. There were no injuries.
