(Cleveland-WTAM) - The Ohio Department of Education has released the 2022 report cards, and a good share of districts had lower scores than before, in part due to student achievement issues during the pandemic.

In the past, the report cards have used letter grades, but this year, they use a star system, with five stars representing highest performance, and one star being low performance.
The categories measured Achievement, Progress, Gap Closing, Graduation, and Early Learning. There is no overall rating this year for school districts.
The Cleveland Metropolitan School District ranked 2 stars for Achievement, 4 stars for Progress, 4 stars for Gap Closing, 1 star for Graduation, and 1 for early learning. Cleveland Schools CEO Eric Gordon told WTAM that the low scores were expected, given the problems involved with teaching children remotely during the pandemic He says, however, that the CMSD has the best scores of any urban school district.
